The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
