The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
