The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
