The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
