The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
