The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
