Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
