The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
