The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
