The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
