The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
