The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
