The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
