The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
