The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
