The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
