The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And no trifle. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
