The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And no trifle. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
