The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
