The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
