Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
