The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
