The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
