The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
