The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
