Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
