The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
