The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
