The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We will make you recite so you shall not forget, 6 Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 Those who fear will understand. 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 Who will enter the Great Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die nor live. 13 Lasting happiness will be for those who purify themselves, 14 And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth, 15 Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
