Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Magnify the Name of thy Lord the Most High 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, 6 Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 He who fears will mind, 10 But it will be avoided by the wretched, 11 and suffer the heat of the great fire 12 in which he will neither die nor live therein. 13 He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 14 and remembers his Sustainer's name, and prays [unto Him]. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 whereas the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls, 18 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
