Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High, 1 The One Who created, and then made proper. 2 And Who makes (things) according to a measure, then guides (them to their goal), 3 Who brings out the pastures 4 And then makes it dark stubble. 5 We shall make thee recite, to forget not 6 except what Allah wills, surely, He knows all that is (spoken) aloud and what is hidden. 7 And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path). 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 Admonished is he indeed who feareth, 10 but it will be ignored by the most unfortunate, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 Neither dying therein nor living. 13 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself 14 remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him. 15 But you prefer the worldly life, 16 although the life to come is better and more enduring. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
