Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 Goblets set, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
