Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
