Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
