Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a Garden on high, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
