Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
