Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
