Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
