Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread around. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
