Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
