Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
