Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
