Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions lined up 15 And carpets spread around. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
