Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
