Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
