Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
