Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 raised couches, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
