Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 laboring, wornout, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
