Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a high Garden. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
