Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
