Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets set forth 14 cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
